Abril, the fourth month of 2025, will bring a new storm. 'Nuria' will be the ninth weather event of the year, impacting Alicante from Thursday, 3rd April. Aemet will activate a yellow alert on the province's coast.
The state agency has reported that storm 'Nuria' will bring "strong winds" to various parts of the peninsula and the Canary Islands. Gusts will reach the province of Alicante.
Therefore, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) will issue a yellow alert on Thursday evening, within the next 24 hours, due to coastal phenomena.
Northeast winds with intervals of up to 60 kilometres per hour are expected, along with waves of two to three metres. Thus, this yellow alert will come into effect from 8 PM and remain active until Friday morning.
Regarding the weather, Aemet forecasts a rise in temperatures for Thursday, with highs of 23 degrees in Alicante city, rising to 25 degrees in the coming days.
However, it will be this Friday, 4th April, when the sun will disappear with the arrival of clouds bringing showers throughout the day. Over the weekend, the chance of precipitation will range from zero to ten percent.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) warns that rain will reach the interior of Alicante province this Thursday, with a one hundred percent probability in the municipality of Alcoi.
The day, according to the state agency, will start cloudy with fog from the early hours, and rain will fall throughout the day. The phenomenon will turn into a storm by Friday in the province's interior.
The northern coast of Alicante will experience showers on Thursday afternoon, while Aemet will activate the yellow alert. It also predicts that the rain will turn into a storm by the first half of Friday.
The city of Elche will only have a yellow alert for winds and waves on the coast. Temperatures will rise from 21 degrees on Wednesday to 25, aiming to reach 27 by Friday, when showers are expected in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Vega Baja will wake up covered in clouds on Thursday - its coast will also enter a yellow alert from 8 PM - without expecting rain. Showers will arrive on Friday afternoon.
