The polar cold front has given way to rain in the province of Alicante. A new DANA has brought widespread showers to the area, but also snow at altitudes between 800 and 1,000 meters, with the peaks of Alicante's mountains now covered in white.
Snow fell throughout much of the night from Thursday to Friday in the highest areas of the province's interior, such as Banyeres de Mariola or the Sierra de Aitana, causing some incidents early in the morning.
Two drivers had to be freed this Friday morning due to the snowfalls, while another driver was rescued late Thursday. According to the Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium (CPB), in all cases "the vehicles trapped by the snow were freed."
The first intervention took place this Thursday at 11:32 p.m. on the CV-801 road, between Ibi and Alcoi, while the two incidents this Friday occurred on the road connecting Banyeres de Mariola with Onil.

The first rescue took place at 5:54 a.m. this Friday heading from Banyeres to Onil, while the second intervention by firefighters occurred on the same road but in the opposite direction at around 6:29 a.m. According to sources from the consortium, everything ended without personal injury.
Snow appeared on Thursday afternoon around 7 p.m. It was from that moment that more and more snowflakes began to fall, accumulating up to five cm in just 20 minutes.
Thus, for this Friday the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) maintains the yellow alert for precipitation that could leave up to 60 liters per square meter in 12 hours, possibly accompanied by storms and small hail.

Thus, the snow level remains above 1,000 meters due to the general rise in minimum temperatures. In fact, this Friday night saw temperatures below zero but far from the -10 degrees recorded just a few days ago.
