RTVE's 100% Catalan Channel to Begin Broadcasting in September 2025

RTVE's new channel, which will broadcast entirely in Catalan, is set to begin trial broadcasts this year around the Diada on September 11th. The aim, according to the Minister of the Presidency of the Generalitat, Albert Dalmau, is for it to be fully operational within a month, by October of this year. The agreement for its creation will be signed in April and will last for at least 15 years to ensure "stability," Dalmau stated on RTVE. The creation of this 100% Catalan channel, broadcasting 24 hours non-stop, is a concession from the central government to Junts and ERC. Dalmau affirmed that it is a "commitment" from the government to the Catalan language to secure its future.
