After achieving a historic victory against News Group Newspapers, the publisher of The Sun, for invasion of privacy, Prince Harry has embarked on his legal battle to regain security as a member of the British royal family during his visits to the UK. Last week, he visited London to attend the Royal Courts of Justice, where his claim is being heard. His stay has caused concern at Buckingham Palace over the possibility that the youngest son of Princess Diana is willing to reveal new secrets about his relationship with the institution.

The Sun reports that "there is much concern that Harry might reveal everything in a new book," recalling the success of 'Spare', the autobiography his brother William published in January 2023. There is also speculation that he might "follow Meghan's example and start a podcast." The source consulted by the English tabloid notes that "he has hinted at discovering secrets during the hearings, particularly about the treatment towards him and Meghan, which would surprise us all." In this context, there is even talk of a "veiled threat" in the statements made by the Duke of Sussex.

The youngest son of King Charles expressed feeling "exhausted" and "overwhelmed" by the lengthy process he has been subjected to in order to regain his protection on British soil. In statements to the Telegraph, he assured that his "worst fears" had been confirmed and that "people would be shocked to know what is being hidden." His words suggest that the Crown might have withdrawn his security to prevent his relocation to the United States, as this measure requires Harry to notify his intention to set foot on British soil 30 days in advance. At this point, Harry considers this legal process even more important than the one he had against the English tabloids.

Indeed, privacy and security are the main challenges that Lady Di's children face every day. The latest police report identifies up to 500 stalkers of the British royal family, and among the recent security breaches is the break-in at Windsor Castle while William and his family were sleeping just minutes away from where the intrusion was taking place.

Regarding privacy, The Telegraph has reported the displeasure of the Princes of Wales over the publication in 'Paris Match' of photographs taken during their private Easter holidays in the French Alps. In fact, the heir and his wife are reportedly consulting with their legal advisors about taking legal action against the magazine.

In any case, it would not be the first time William and Kate Middleton have protected their privacy through the courts. A few years ago, they won a lawsuit against the French magazine Closer for publishing photographs of the royal couple enjoying a day at the beach in Luberon. On that occasion, the director and editor-in-chief of the publication had to pay a fine of 45,000 euros.

The getaway of the Princes of Wales with their children George, Charlotte, and Louis during the Easter holidays is a clear statement of how the heir and his family wish to approach their institutional duties, drawing a clear line between their public and private lives and prioritizing the care of their children. Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis in early 2024 marked a turning point for King Charles's eldest son and changed the couple's priorities, putting health and the upbringing of their children first.
