"Heartbroken and alone," is how The Independent describes Prince Harry these days. The son of King Charles III learned of his father's hospital admission through the media, a severe blow for the Duke of Sussex, who is embroiled in serious accusations of "bullying and intimidation" towards his African organisation, Sentebale, from which he resigned as patron alongside Prince Seeiso of Lesotho last week.
On Thursday, 27th March, the British monarch was admitted to the London Clinic for monitoring the adverse side effects of his cancer treatment. His hospital stay was brief, although he must remain on leave, withdrawn from his official duties until fully recovered. In this regard, The Mirror reported that Harry "was not informed about Charles's hospitalisation or his issues with side effects before the Palace's official announcement," learning of it only when the news broke publicly on Thursday night.
Buckingham Palace justified that they did not want to cause "unnecessary alarm." However, Lady Di's youngest son is "more lost than ever," according to The Independent, and cannot find his purpose outside the royal family. "His Invictus Games project remains the centre of his mission, along with the couple's charity, The Archewell Foundation, but sources indicate that Harry's work agenda is much less varied than before, especially after his departure from Sentebale."
His resignation from the African charity, which he founded to continue his mother Princess Diana's legacy, has left him still "shocked." The organisation's director, Sophie Chandauka, accused him of "black misogyny and discrimination." This is compounded by recent statements from Zimbabwean lawyer to Trevor Phillips on 'Sunday Morning,' lamenting "the attack" by what she calls the "Sussex machine" against her and the organisation she leads. "It is an example of large-scale bullying and intimidation," she asserted.
A new controversy that Prince William's brother is facing without his family's support because "nobody talks to him." The Sun cites "a friend of Harry" as saying that "he misses his family terribly, but nobody talks to him anymore. He just wants to go for a beer with his mates, but his only friends are Meghan's friends' husbands."
Some experts on the British monarchy have highlighted how "devastating" it must be for King Charles III's youngest son to leave Sentebale, an organisation "to which he dedicated his heart." A pain deepened by concern for his father's health. In this regard, the latest news we've had from the king were his condolences to the victims of the Myanmar earthquake.
"To the people of Myanmar, my wife and I are deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the devastating earthquake in Myanmar, with its tragic loss of life and terrible damage to homes, buildings, and livelihoods, not to mention the destruction of sacred pagodas, monasteries, and other places of worship," reads the statement, which ends by sending "our deepest condolences to all those who have suffered the profound tragedy of losing their loved ones, their homes, and their cherished livelihoods."
