The Postiguet Beach Bursts with Colour During Alicante's Hogueras Mascletà

On Sunday, a rainbow appeared in Alicante. The mascletà of the Hogueras de Alicante filled the Postiguet Beach with colour. It was the great surprise by the Ferrández Brothers Pyrotechnics from Beniel, responsible for this display of the 'Pòlvora tot l'any' cycle, postponed nearly a month due to strong winds in early March.

The Gómiz promenade was filled, from the prelude with the popular breakfast, with festival-goers and locals who did not hesitate to attend and enjoy this mascletà, awaited since last Saturday Ramblero, when it was initially scheduled.

The candidates for the Belleas del Foc of Alicante also attended, to whom the current representatives dedicated the display. There was also a mention in memory of the pyrotechnician Pedro Luis Sirvent, who passed away on March 6 following an explosion in his Fontcalent workshop.

Afterwards, the three warning thunderclaps began, followed by the most anticipated shout, 'senyor pirotècnic, pot començar la mascletà'. The surprise came with the start of a Valencian firecracker that led to the aerial phase of the display.

After the initial thunderclaps, the sky over Alicante began to fill with colour through a digital sequence that varied from right to left. The Beniel team played with tones during the mascletà, adding bursts of colour in a fan shape.

Thus, with part of the 50 kilograms fired in these initial aerial phases, the following ones began with more accompaniment: whistlers, red and green streamers, and thunderclaps. A whole combo that gained rhythm and intensity.

The great surprise came to announce the start of the terrestrial phase. Before hitting the ground, the Ferrández Brothers fired different colours at two fixed points, forming a multicoloured flag in the style of a rainbow with crackers in the background.

And so they set the Postiguet Beach vibrating as they began to ignite the octopuses containing the different calibres and ground thunderclaps. These were also accompanied by aerials, more artefacts that allowed the rhythm to increase in a 'crescendo' as the different pauses passed.

It was during the last one when the most anticipated moment arrived, a powerful earthquake that made all the locals gathered around the Gómiz promenade jump to enjoy this mascletà of the Hogueras de Alicante. Not without first being surprised again with a finale that featured a digital of streamers and whistlers, before closing with a hermetic bombardment.

The mascletàs calendar of the 'Pòlvora tot l'any' cycle is dwindling in this first half of June, before celebrating the Hogueras de Alicante and the Luceros competition.

The next mascletà in Alicante, within this contest, is scheduled for May 11 in sector seven, near the Alicante Provincial Auditorium (ADDA) at 2 p.m.
