Police Save Elda Worker with Defibrillator After Electric Shock

Rescue efforts by Elda's Local Police officers have recently proven life-saving. Thanks to their swift response, the officers managed to save the life of a 48-year-old worker who suffered a 380-volt electric shock at a company located in the Finca Lacy Industrial Estate.

The police officers arrived at the scene after receiving a 112 emergency call alerting them that a worker had lost consciousness following a workplace accident.

Upon arrival, the officers found an unconscious man in a van, completely cyanotic and in cardiac arrest. One officer began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation while another prepared the defibrillator, which is equipped in Elda's Local Police patrol cars.

While waiting for the Samu medical team to arrive, the officers administered several shocks and resuscitation attempts, keeping the man alive until medical personnel, supported by a second police patrol car, could intubate and stabilize him, before transferring him in critical condition to Elda Hospital.

The officers who intervened from the outset accompanied the ambulance to the hospital's emergency department, where the affected individual remained in a critical state for several days. However, he is now out of danger and continues his recovery in the hospital.

Subsequent police investigations revealed that the worker received a severe electric shock when he grabbed a cable that was reportedly in poor condition. Another worker managed to pull his colleague away from the cable, but due to the shock, the affected individual also suffered severe injuries and burns to his hands.
