Melody, Sonia, and Selena Lead the 16 Candidates for Benidorm Fest

Benidorm Fest has announced its 16 participants for the 2025 edition. Melody, Sonia and Selena, Chica Sobresalto, Mel Ömana, Mawot, Lucas Bun, Lachispa, Kuve, K!NGDOM, J Kbello, Henry Semler, DeTeresa, David Afonso, Daniela Blasco, Celine Van Heel, and Carla Frigo will gather in the Alicante city between January 28, when the first semifinal will be held (the second is on Thursday 30), and Saturday, February 1, the date of the grand final, to find out the winner. The winner will be the Spanish representative for Eurovision, which will be held on May 17 in Basel, Switzerland.

The 16 candidates were selected from over 1,000 applications received by RTVE until last October 10, the day the call was definitively closed. Since then, an internal jury of the public entity, led by singer Rayden, has been responsible for evaluating these proposals and selecting the 16 candidates (and their six substitutes), where, as always, there are representatives of all kinds of genres.

Benidorm Fest will have its own tribute to the victims of the DANA, and all the money raised from the sale of festival tickets will be donated entirely to help repair the damage in the zero zone localities.

Additionally, Benidorm Fest will bring changes to the voting system for the selected artists. In 2025, free voting will be allowed in the competition after several years of demands from all followers of the Spanish contest.
