The 'hippies' will reopen their stalls for the first time this Friday at the Port

Countdown begins for the reopening of the 'hippies', who moved from the Explanada to the Port of Alicante on April 4th. The new and colourful stalls are located between the Fish Market and the children's park on the Alicante dock promenade.

After more than three months of work, this Friday, April 11th at 7 p.m., the 'hippies' stalls will open their windows for the first time in this location and begin selling their characteristic artisanal products.

With a renewed stall design reminiscent of South Beach, Miami, the new stalls feature inspiring phrases, renewing the sales points and turning them into another tourist attraction.

Thus, the wait comes to an end and the craft market, formerly located on the Explanada, will reopen its stalls "after three months of work and overcoming challenges," they explain in a statement, highlighting that "despite the difficulties, we have 15 stalls full of colour, hope, and creativity, offering unique and original products."

During the day, vendors explain that visitors can enjoy motivational phrases printed on the stalls, as well as activities for children such as face painting or a balloon artist creating balloon figures.

There have been several months of clashes between the City Council and the vendors of the Explanada. After searching for a new location for these stalls, they were finally moved to the Port Market, where they can stay initially for a year, according to the Port Authority.
