Hercules is not only focused on renewing goalkeeper Carlos Abad's contract. The club, through its sporting director Paco Peña, has been negotiating for several weeks to extend the contract of winger Javi Moreno, a crucial player in the team's attack.
The Almerian forward has excelled this season in Primera RFEF and, alongside Oriol Soldevila and Nico Espinosa, is one of Hercules' main offensive assets. Javi Moreno has scored five goals and provided seven assists this season, performing exceptionally well and proving unstoppable when playing from the right wing.
The left-footed winger decided the last match at Rico Pérez against Ibiza with a stunning goal, scored another similar one in Alcoy, and also found the net last Sunday in Antequera. The negotiations are not straightforward as he has attracted interest from numerous teams, but Hercules is confident of reaching a successful agreement.
Javi Moreno arrived in Alicante during last winter's transfer window after lacking opportunities in Primera RFEF with Atlético Baleares, and his contribution was decisive in the final stretch of the league, including assisting Coscia in the historic match against Lleida that allowed Hercules to celebrate a promotion 14 years later.
Trained in Almería's youth ranks, he took his first steps as a professional footballer at UCAM Murcia and now, at 27, he is at the peak of his career. He is confident, aware of being a standout player in Primera RFEF, and Hercules believes he could also perform well in the second division, so efforts are being made in the offices to renew his contract.
The club is also confident of reaching an agreement with Carlos Abad, another key player for Rubén Torrecilla's team whose contract expires in June. Meanwhile, midfielder Roger Colomina renewed this season until 2028, the same year Oriol Soldevila's contract ends. Additionally, Nico Espinosa is also well secured, and no departures of these players are expected, as Hercules' primary goal is to return to professional football. If not this season, they will aim for it next season with a strong commitment.
Torrecilla's team is five points away from the last promotion spot, and on Sunday (12:00 pm), they face a crucial match against Mérida, the team currently occupying that position.
