The four detainees, as stated by the Police in a communiqué, approached the victim on the street, and after threatening them in an intimidating manner, demanded money. As the victim did not have cash, the assailants forced them to make an immediate transfer via the Bizum application. Under coercion and gripped by fear, the victim transferred the money to the phone number provided by the aggressors.
Once the victim filed a complaint, the officers began an investigation linking the phone number to which the demanded amount was sent by the detainees, allowing them to identify the account holder who received the transfer. Subsequently, the individual was located and arrested as part of Operation Veneto.
Following the initial arrest, the Police managed to identify and detain the other three individuals, thus closing the criminal circle "in record time."
