The Spanish shipping company Baleària continues to diversify its connections to Algeria, with a new route from the port of Barcelona to Algiers, marking the company's first international line from the Catalan capital's port. This service, available for both passengers and cargo, begins operations this Monday, with departures on Mondays at 13:00 from Barcelona and on Saturdays at 14:00 from Algiers.

The company currently offers four routes to Algeria: in addition to the new Barcelona-Algiers connection, Baleària maintains a weekly departure between Valencia and Algiers and another departure from the Valencian port to Oran or Mostaganem, depending on the week. In total, three weekly departures are offered between Spain and Algeria.

Baleària's General Director, Georges Bassoul, emphasized that the shipping company aims to consolidate routes with this country: "Algeria is a strategic market for Baleària, where we have growth prospects thanks to a quality offer adapted to the needs of passengers, and also logistics companies." Furthermore, Bassoul noted that this expansion of services "will improve connectivity between Spain and Algeria by sea with reliable and punctual services."

It is worth remembering that Baleària has been operating with Algeria since 2016, when it opened its first Valencia-Mostaganem route. Last October, it began operating between Valencia and Algiers, and in December between Valencia and Oran.

The ferry assigned to these routes offers cabin and seat accommodation, as well as services such as a café, shop, or restaurant. Baleària also provides services tailored to the needs of passengers on these routes: passenger assistants speak Arabic and French, bars and restaurants offer halal food, and there are dedicated prayer rooms. Additionally, the company offers telephone assistance in Arabic to address inquiries.

Baleària, which has been operating in Barcelona since 2003, provides daily connections to Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera.
