The Adoptive Mother of the Murdered Girl in Murcia: 'I Expected Him to Do Something to Me, But Never This'

Ramona is a woman broken by grief. The adoptive mother of Nadia, the five-year-old girl who died this Tuesday after ingesting pills in the Murcian district of Llano de Brujas, has swollen eyes from crying and can only demand justice against Jesús J., Suso, the alleged perpetrator of the homicide. 'I hope justice destroys him,' she insists, surrounded by family and friends. 'My daughter will not come out from under the ground, but he should come out in a pine box. Let him rot. He is a demon.'

This resident of the Murcian district of Patiño picked up her adoptive daughter, Nadia, from school this Tuesday and fed her. 'He picked her up just after three to take her to the play area,' she recounts.

Jesús J., however, drove the girl to his parents' house in Llano de Brujas, where he allegedly ended her life by giving her pills. 'He called his parents to say he had done something crazy,' Ramona recounts. 'My mother-in-law went in and found the girl covered in vomit. It seems she choked on her own vomit.'

This woman explains that after a long relationship, they had separated in August, but he could not accept the breakup. 'He never threatened me with the girl. He had done a thousand bad things to me, but he never said anything about the child,' she says helplessly. 'I expected him to do something to me, but I never expected this.'

She confesses that her own children had advised her to report her ex-partner because one day 'he will give you a scare,' but she never did. 'He didn't have the guts to face me,' she remarks as she chews on her anger.
