27 Members of a Family Clan Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Madrid and Toledo

The National Police have dismantled a family clan based in Numancia de la Sagra (Toledo) and Madrid, which was involved in the cultivation and trafficking of marijuana. The police operation, which resulted in the arrest of 27 individuals, began after the suspects shared videos on social media showing them firing weapons in public areas. In other videos, they flaunted a high lifestyle by displaying luxury cars, gold necklaces and rings, and large sums of money. The purpose of these videos was to intimidate rival gangs and demonstrate their power and alleged impunity to fire weapons in the street.

After analysing the published videos, the police determined that they were recorded in the small town of Numancia de la Sagra (Toledo), with a population of 5,600, and in the Madrid district of La Latina. Investigators discovered that the source of income for this family clan was the wholesale sale of cannabis sativa to another organisation that transported it abroad. The group had several illegally occupied single-family homes where they cultivated marijuana, and five indoor plantations were found.

As a result of these investigations, officers seized 1,160 cannabis plants in various stages of flowering, 21 kilos of bagged marijuana buds ready for sale, €16,000 in cash, luxury vehicles, several firearms with abundant ammunition, and a stun gun. The operation remains ongoing, and further arrests have not been ruled out.
